Hey there, loyal Meatty Okra Fans!
So, I know that you will all be very disappointed to hear this today, but this is the deal anyway.
We are scheduled to have another live stream jam session, this Saturday for "Seis de Mayo" However, in an interesting plot twist in life, that day is also the expected due date for my wife to have our second daughter! :) Yay!!! Talk about a conflict of interest, right? So I will more than likely be on stand by, waiting to help out in any way that I can to make that day less difficult for her.
So, while I am taking care of my family. I am going to ask a few of you to take charge and keep the fire burning in my absence. By that I mean this, go forth and jam! That's what this is all about anyway. It's not just about Meatty Okra, it's about all of you, we want to inspire Everyone to get out there and make music, or paint, or draw, write books, teach people how to farm, do whatever creative thing it is that you do, and get others to do it as well. I have talked with the Meatty bass player, Goopy about what he is going to do Saturday for me. He will be doing a YouTube Live stream on his personal channel The Real Goopy Goop where he will more than likely be jamming on his acoustic bass for you guys. But he also makes electronic music, and puts up skateboard videos weekly so, lots to check out there!
Not sure what if anything, the other Meatty Members will be doing. Probably nursing hangovers from Cinco de Mayo. Regardless, if you guys make music, go do it, if you make videos of you doing that, go do that, if you stream live on YouTube/Facebook/Instagram/or my personal favorite, Periscope, then go and do that on Saturday and you can do me a Huuuuuuuuge favor by mentioning "The Meatty Okra Project" during your video/stream. Tell people to check out www.meattyokra.com Help me raise awareness about the importance of creating our own music, and how the creative expression of self can be found in a myriad of ways. Discover what you can do to make the world more beautiful, and do it every day. Thank you so much for all of your continued interest and support! We are really starting to build some serious momentum and it is all because of you! :)
If we keep up this pace, I may actually be able to pull off my true dream of opening a NonProfit Recording Studio in Buffalo, NY! Stay Tuned and Thanks for Joining The Revolution!

Twitter, I don't even know what to say. You are great! I did not ever have a Twitter account until I created this one for the project back in February. All I have to say is "Wow!" I misjudged you Twitter. I did not understand the appeal about you at all, but I definitely see it now! The personal connections that I have made with people that would have otherwise been unreachable has been an amazing experience. I have found that people are generally very helpful and they will advise you on the best ways to get the most out of your online experience if you just ask. Thank you so much to anyone out there who have helped us in this way so far!

YouTube has generally been a great experience as well. However, there was a bit of a mishap when attempting to post my channel intro video. They quickly sorted things out and got us back on track for success. So, Thank you to everyone at YouTube for getting that straightened out quickly. We are SLOWLY building up our loyal YouTube Subscribers, but we are in it for the long haul so I am not really worried about our current numbers.
There are many more ways to find us on Social Meatty-A, but I simply do not have any more time at the moment to go into detail about our other accounts. So if you are an adventurous soul who loves music and realizes the inherent power and influence that it has on all of our lives, then you already know why we are here, and we are pleased to have you with us! If you would like to learn more about anything or have a specific question about me, The Meatty Okra Project, our goals, or how you think you may be able to help us achieve them, please feel free to comment here! Or send me an email at [email protected] I would be happy to discuss just about anything with anyone if I can find the time to do so. I try to get back to people as quickly as possible. Thank you all again for your continued interest and support! This project would be nothing with out all of you!
What is The Meatty Okra Project?
What Is Our End Game?
Ultimately, I would like to start a non-profit recording studio in the Buffalo, NY area that is free or asclose to free as possible, to anyone that is interested in creating music. This dream however, will never come to fruition without the financial and community support from some of you out there. I am 31 years old and I have realized that I will never be satisfied by just working a normal job forever. I want to make a positive impact on the lives of those in my community, especially those who are talented but maybe do not have the confidence or money required to have their talents realized. I am not trying to be the next great rock star, but if what I do can inspire someone else to become one, then I will have done my job. My real job is to inspire others to create rather than destroy! "The Future of Music is Now!"

Where are we at right now?
Right now, Meatty Okra is a small group of friends who wanted a reason to hang out more often and jamming together was a good way to do it. My name is Greg, and The Meatty Okra Project is really my creation. I want to form more than a band, but rather, a community of musicians. I want there to be no set members, no set genre, no booking shows or pressure to perform at your absolute best. I want a relaxed environment that anyone can enjoy, either by actively participating in the creative process, or by enjoying the musical creations via our live stream events.
Where are we going in the future?
We have just gotten started on this adventure and the future is yet to be determined, but you should know that every penny that you donate will be going towards taking all of the necessary legal steps to acquire a real physical location and legitimize the operation of this novel community building idea.
Short on cash, but still want to show your support?
Please do us a HUUUUGE favor and Subscribe to our YouTube Channel Here or Become an official Meatty Okra fan on ReverbNation right Here .

I will honestly say, I have no idea where this is really heading, but I am no less excited about getting to wherever that ends up being! Thank you to all of our new friends and supporters out there! Together we will build something truly wonderful for everyone!
My name is Greg. I am the creator of this whole project. You can think of me as the Tyler Durden of The Meatty Okra Project. The first rule of The Meatty Okra Project is that there are no rules. The second rule of The Meatty Okra Project is, see rule #1.
